Everything’s Gonna Be All Right

Rise up this mornin'

Smiled with the risin' sun,

Three little birds

Pitch by my doorstep

Singin' sweet songs

Of melodies pure and true,

Sayin', "This is my message to you-ou-ou:"

Singin': "Don't worry 'bout a thing,

'Cause every little thing gonna be all right."

That’s how Bob Marley sung it.

But you know it’s not a bad perspective for Advent. All creation joins those three little birds and declares the glory of the coming King. Do you see what I see? Do you hear what I hear?

This Advent as I slow to refocus and “tune in,” I’m filled with wonder. It’s true, this life is not easy. But resilience to endure the hard stuff comes to us when we adjust the antenna of our perspective.

Brilliant people don’t deny the dark, they are the ones who never stop looking for the light in everything. [Ann Voskamp]

My prayer for each one of you who receive this email (whether you read it or not ) is simple. That you would see and hear the birds singing sweetly in the trees, and join their song of basic trust in their Provider.

Thanks for walking with us. We love and appreciate each one of you. Again, from our family to yours, Merry Christmas.

The Fruit of Long Term Redemptive Business

M & V have served with Multiply for 8+ years. They run a sock company called Fazl. They long for the entire country to know the Father. Fazl employs over 500 artisans, but it all started by hiring the first five ladies. These five ladies still work for the company. Each of them come from Buddhist and Hindu backgrounds. Fazl has godly values and work days start with devotions. It was during one of these team times this year, 2024, one of the ladies decided she'd like to follow Jesus. That same meeting the other 4 ladies also said it was time for them too...praise God!!

I love pastors!

We had two pastors on the team. Pastor Cliff Ursel (from Westside in Vancouver) and I shared many hours together planning global partnerships. He was there to see firsthand how Westside can better serve national church planters. He and I met with these two local leaders who told us many stories of lives transformed by the grace of Jesus. Their resilience and faith is inspiring.

A Blast from TREK past

"Are you Sam Dick? Do you remember me?" said a young lady at church on Sunday in N Ind. I knew immediately this was Lilli Unrau from Germany. Lilli came on TREK 2004 with a passion to reach world for Jesus. She went from TREK to YWAM and has served in many places. Now she is married to a local pastor and runs a coffee business out of her home. The shop was right across the street from our hotel... and the name? It's Litehouse coffee shop, you can't make this up. What an unexpected gift it was to see Lilli's life dedicated to living in a hard place, with great love and creativity.

A few more faces

I met some amazing young adults. Following Jesus and the dreams He’s placed in their hearts!!
