Pray. Discern. Nominate.

The apostles told all Christians to watch over each other with loving care and prayer (Galatians 6:1-2). But in each congregation they also appointed leaders called "elders" (Acts 14:23; Titus 1:5); who would look after the people like shepherds look after sheep (John 21:15-17), leading them by example (1 Peter 5:3), and serving others like Jesus did (Luke 22:25-27).

The shepherding role of elders requires mature and stable Christian character such as being trustworthy, faithful in marriage (if married), sober, self-controlled, a good reputation, and able to teach (see 1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9). They should also be regularly involved in our church.

We are asking and inviting you to please Pray for our church, Discern who you think would make a good elder, and then Nominate them using the card at the welcome desk (or emailing them to elders@erbf.com) by November 30th.
