As a church we work with our global partners in Colombia who run a church and school in a slum village on the outskirts of Bogotá in a neighbourhood called El Progreso. The neighborhood is comprised of people displaced by rural conflict and who fled to the city for safety. El Progreso has no running water or sewer and faces regular gang violence. Children are malnourished; many are not able to go to school. The Education Brings Hope project is a community based program. This means the school and community leaders decide the priorities and we help supply the resources.
