Why Dayzees Matter

It was during a ministry trip to a refugee centre in 2018 that Pastor Obadiah Kim & his wife Sue became aware of a key barrier many African school-aged girls faced each month because they could not afford proper female sanitary pads. Since then, a team of volunteers from several churches in Coquitlam (Eagle Ridge Bible Fellowship, House for All Nations, Westwood Alliance Church, etc.) have been sewing and sending eco-friendly, reusable menstrual pads. The kits promote sustainability and support girls’ and womens’ well-being, removing barriers that keep girls from attending school. See video below.

Update

From March 2023 to October 2023 volunteers made and sent a total of 650 sets!  The kits are being distributed through True Light Vision Church located near Lake Victoria in Uganda. "Thank you to WAC, ERBF, HFAN, CULTIVATORS, MBVCC, and all the volunteers who participated in the reusable sanitary pad project. Your service and love has been, and will continue to be, of great help to Ugandan women and girls."
