There are few parts of the Bible as familiar to Bible readers at the parables of Jesus. Through stories Jesus takes his listeners on a cross-cultural journey that began with people and stories drawn from the everyday world. But as in any great story, Jesus' listeners often found themselves caught up into a whole new world with a transforming effect on "whoever has ears to hear".
